Lok Sabha Election Date 2024 Live: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to announce the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Saturday, March 16. The announcement will be made during a press conference at 3 pm in the national capital. The poll body led by CEC Rajiv Kumar will declare the crucial details ahead of the general elections like the voting dates, phases in which the voting will take place in different states and announcement of results. In addition to the Lok Sabha polls schedule, the Election Commission will also announce dates for the Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha state Assembly polls.
The BJP on Wednesday had released its second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, dropping at least 28 sitting MPs while including three former Chief Ministers. While the Congress party on the other hand, has named a total of 82 candidates so far to fight the high-stakes Lok Sabha polls.
Notably, the term of the current Lok Sabha will end on June 16 and a new House has to be constituted before the mentioned date.
