Kachchh: Nakhatrana in Kutch district of Gujarat received heavy rain on Thursday. After the rainfall, flood-like visuals emerged from the streets of Nakhatrana. Videos showed water collecting on streets and flowing down at a high speed.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in the coming days.

"The southwest monsoon has advanced into additional parts of the Arabian Sea, Gujarat state, remaining parts of Maharashtra, further parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the remaining parts of Odisha, and some areas of Jharkhand," the IMD stated earlier this week.

The monsoon is expected to further advance into "more parts of the north Arabian Sea and Gujarat state, additional parts of Madhya Pradesh, the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next 3-4 days," it added.

Tapi district in the south of Gujarat experienced heavy rainfall last week, the IMD reported. Other areas in south and north Gujarat and Saurashtra also received rainfall during this period.

Ordinarily, the monsoon enters Gujarat around June 15 and reaches Ahmedabad and other regions, including parts of Saurashtra, by June 20.
