Many social media users risk their lives in hopes of gaining attention, filming dangerous stunts like jumping off buildings or risky car manoeuvres. Sometimes, even seemingly safe activities can turn tragic. The latest example of this is a video capturing the moment lightning almost struck a girl dancing in the rain on the terrace.

According to reports, the incident occurred on June 26 in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district. The viral video shows the girl dancing and enjoying the rain on the terrace while her friend filmed her. As the video progresses, a lightning, accompanied by loud thunder, strikes very close to the girl. The terrified girl can be seen running away to save her life.

Many users reacted to the video. One said, “Craze for name n fame can get u into photo frame.” Another user commented, “She will never dance in rain for rest of her life... Not Even her children.”

“Nature, calamities cannot be predicted, lucky that lighting struck nearby, but the amount of energy, lightening electric, static charge can incinerate objects, including Non biological. human instantly!!! Incredible power of lightening / nature,” a third user wrote.

On Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that the heatwave in Bihar will subside soon, while heavy rainfalls are expected to cover the Northeast and Western India. Light to moderate rainfall is expected over the next five days in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, East Rajasthan, Odisha and West Bengal.


Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR woke up to a fresh spell of rain on Thursday. IMD has also issued a ‘yellow alert’ till July 3, with forecasts showing moderate to heavy rain to continue. "Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain with heavy intensity rain over isolated places and wind with speed of 20-40 Km/h would continue to occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi," the IMD said in a post on X at 9.00 am on Thursday.
