Afisherman duo have caught a "doomsday fish" with terrifying features and a bizarre head structure. The creature caught by Curtis Peterson has gone viral soon after it was shared to Fishing Australia's social media page. The gigantic fish was captured off the Melville Island coast. It was caught during a recent moonlight fishing sessions.

Referring to the grand discovery NT News columnist Alex Julius said, "It's the first time I've ever heard someone land a fish like that up here. It's also very rare to land one of these fish, most being found washed up ashore already deceased."

Social Media Users React

The viral picture of the creature has prompted many to react and give their opinion.

One user on X commented, "LMFAOO that's huge."

Another user on X reacted, "Why does it have a head like a horse?"

"The reason they're called doomsday fish is because when they're found in shallower waters, it's because there was an earthquake underwater and there might be one coming to the mainland soon too," said a third user on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The fish originally called an Oarfish, can grow up to nine Metres long. These creatures are often mistaken for snakes when found near the land. These rarely spotted creatures swim vertically up to 1000 Metres to hunt for their prey.

Why are they named doomsday fish ?

The nickname is derived from ancient folklore, especially in countries like Japan where spotting an oarfish is considered ominous. This is because, these creatures have been associated with forthcoming natural disasters like tsunamis and earthquakes. They come as a 'warning' sign to alert people to prepare for any forthcoming disasters.

The Power of the Dam: Unleashing the Potential Energy of Water

Title: The Power of the Dam: Unleashing the Potential Energy of Water Introduction: Dams have long played a crucial role in harnessing the power of water, providing a source of renewable energy that has transformed communities and industries worldwide. By utilizing the force of gravity and the potential energy of water, dams have become powerful generators of clean electricity. In this blog, we will explore the concept of potential energy by dams, its benefits, working principles, and the Principle of dam working transformative impact it has on our energy landscape. 1. Understanding Potential Energy: Potential energy is the energy possessed by an object due to its position or state. In the context of dams, it refers to the energy stored in water at a higher elevation. When water is held behind a dam, it gains potential energy, which can be converted into kinetic energy and, ultimately, electricity. 2. Benefits of Hydroelectric Power: Hydroelectric power derived from potential ene...
