Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday slammed Pakistan over the terrorist attack near Pahalgam and said that there will be reaction for action.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will teach a lesson to the terrorists and Pakistan, who has been backing them, Shinde said. "The game has been started by Pakistan, but we are confident that it will be ended by Indian jawans," he added.
Several organisations including the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have called for a complete shutdown in Jammu on Wednesday.
The bandh call was given by the Transporters' Association, Jammu Bar Association and the Congress party.

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday condoled the deadly attack that took place J&K's Pahalgam and said she was "deeply saddened and devastated" to learn of the incident.
"I am deeply saddened and devastated to learn of the dastardly terror attack on innocent tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam region. Resorting to violence is an act of cowardice and needs to be condemned in no uncertain terms," she said in a statement.
She added, "I understand the pain of families who have lost their loved ones and extend my deepest condolences to them. I also pray for the complete and speedy recovery of those injured."

West Bengal minister Aroop Biswas met the family members of a deceased 40-year-old IT professional Bitan Adhikary, who got killed in a deadly terrorist attack near Pahalgam. He assured them of all the support in bringing back the body.

He will leave for India tonight. The PM, who was originally scheduled to return Wednesday night, will now arrive in India early Wednesday morning instead, government sources said.
On the Pahalgam terror attack, President of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, condemned the strike and said such gruesomeness is abhorred in Islam.
“Whoever kills an innocent soul, it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. Another day of carnage in the blood-soaked history of Kashmir, when visiting tourists are mercilessly killed in a most gruesome manner. Hapless people of Kashmir know the pain and grief of such tragedies for those who have lost their loved ones today,” he wrote on X.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the United States stand with India after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.
“Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all,” Trump wrote on social media.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday called for a complete ‘Kashmir Bandh’ in the wake of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.
“It is time to unite against the massacre of innocents, says PDP as Mehbooba Mufti calls for a complete Kashmir bandh against the Pahalgam attack,” she said.
In a letter to Indian President Droupadi Murmu, her Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, expressed his condolences and said such a brutal crime has no justification.
“Kindly accept the sincere condolences over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, whose victims were civilians — citizens of various countries. This brutal crime has no justification whatsoever. We expect that its organisers and perpetrators will face deserved punishment,” wrote Putin.
President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday expressed condolences to the families of the victims, who lost their lives in a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam today.
“The terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir is shocking and painful. It is a dastardly and inhuman act which must be condemned unequivocally. Attacking innocent citizens, in this case tourists, is utterly appalling and unpardonable," she wrote on X
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said two tourists from the state were killed and two others injured in the terror attack near Pahalgam town in Kashmir.
“I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam. My heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in this incident. We share the grief of their families and loved ones. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of those injured in this incident,” said Fadnavis.
One Indian Navy Officer, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was posted in Kochi, has been killed in the Pahalgam attack while he was on leave, ANI reported, citing defence officials.
He is a native of Haryana and got married on April 16.
