A shocking case has emerged from Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman has alleged that her husband, who married her in 2020 posing as a Hindu Kshatriya, is actually from another faith and has been pressuring her to convert.
Aarti Chauhan, a resident of Ram Nagar Railway Colony, has levelled these allegations against her husband, Khurshid Alam alias Sunny, and his associates. The wedding was solemnised at the famed Badi Devkali temple in Ayodhya. It was only after a few years of marriage and having two children that she discovered her husband’s true identity, Aarti claimed.
Aarti claimed that her neighbours, Safiq and his wife Simran, played pivotal roles in this alleged conspiracy. It has been alleged that when Aarti installed a Ganesh idol in her home and tried to celebrate Hindu festivals, she was reportedly threatened with death. She alleges that Safiq, Simran, and 13 others have been coercing her to convert and intimidating her.
Aarti further alleged that her husband drugged her, subjected her to obscene acts, and allowed his associates to behave inappropriately with her. She also accused Simran’s brother, history-sheeter Olu from Hari Nagar Balaganj in Lucknow, of issuing threats.
The victim stated that she and her children are living in constant fear and have not received any police protection. Despite multiple appeals to the police and administration, no concrete action has been taken, she claimed.
Overwhelmed by fear and despair, Aarti has threatened that if justice is not served soon, she will be compelled to die by suicide along with her two children at the Chief Minister’s ‘Janata Darbar‘.
