Now, passengers flying in and out of Delhi airport will be able to use India’s first 360° virtual navigation map at Terminal 3, which is aimed at simplifying transit for domestic and international transfer travellers.
“Delhi Airport is on the way to becoming a global hub and committed to making every passenger's journey as smooth and hassle-free as possible. The launch of our 360° Virtual Navigation Map marks a major step forward in enhancing the airport experience, especially for transfer passengers who need efficient and clear directions. This initiative is designed with the needs of every traveller in mind—from first-time flyers to those travelling with children or elderly family members,” said Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).
DIAL, led by the GMR airports consortium, announced the launch of the virtual navigation panel on Monday.
The virtual map can be accessed by scanning QR codes placed at strategic locations in Terminal 3.
Using real images of the terminal, the map is designed to offer passengers a more familiar and intuitive navigation experience at the country’s busiest airports. DIAL said the tool is intended to reduce stress and confusion, particularly for transfer passengers, by guiding them to key areas such as transfer desks, boarding gates, and baggage belts.
According to DIAL, this initiative is part of its broader strategy to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency at the airport.
The virtual map can be accessed by scanning QR codes placed at strategic locations in Terminal 3. Once scanned, the map opens on a mobile device, offering step-by-step directions throughout the terminal.
Following the launch, DIAL is now expanding the service to cover all boarding gates and baggage belts at Terminals 1 and 3. This expansion ensures that passengers, especially first-time flyers, the elderly, women travelling with children, family, etc, will have a smart, self-guided way finding tool at every key point of their journey, further enhancing convenience and reducing stress, according to DIAL
