Mumbai-Nagpur Vande Bharat: In a major development, the Indian Railways in likely to introduce the Vande Bharat Express on the Mumbai-Nagpur route, as per a report by the Pune Pulse. If introduced, the service will not only cut travel time significantly but also provide and ease of travelling to the commuters on one of the longest intra-state routes in India.
The distance between Mumbai and Nagpur is 837 km and the trains take over 14 hours to complete the journey between both the stations. However, the Vande Bharat Express would reduce the time to 9 hours. This is half than many other trains currently running on the route.
The Indian Railways is intensifying its efforts to modernise the rail travel with the introduction of comfy and fast trains with updated services for passengers. In line with that, the railways has so far introduced 136 Vande Bharat trains across India.
Propable stoppages
As the train is expected to be announced soon, there is no official route plan related to stoppages. However, reports suggest that the Mumbai-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express will make halts at Jalgaon and Bhusaval.
For passengers of these stations, the Vande Bharat will offer a quick train service from Mumbai with a 3-4 hour journey.
Among other probable stoppages of the Vande Bharat Express, the stations are: Dadar, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Akola, Bhandara and Wardha.
Mumbai-Nagpur Vande Bharat: Speed, Fare
As Vande Bharat Express is a semi-high speed train, it would run at a speed of 160 kmph. The train will have 1 Executive AC Chair Car and 7 AC Chair Cars. For Executive AC Chair Car, the fare is likely to be between Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500 while for AC Chair Car, the price will be between Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000.
