'Write It Down, In 10 Years, BJP's Leadership...': Prashant Kishor's Big Claim

prashant kishor says in 10 years bjp pm modi will appear softer than yogi adityanath hardline politics

Patna: Poll strategist-turned-politician and founder of Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), Prashant Kishor, while addressing a Muslim conference in Bihar, said that in 10 years from now, people may feel that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was soft on 'hardline' politics in comparison to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

"Write it down, 10 years from now, I’ll meet you again. You’ll say PM Modi was still tolerable back then, but this Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is intolerable... Aren’t you able to realise that the RSS is slowly shifting the Centre more towards right (moving towards hardline politics), and your fight is with them," Prashant Kishor told a gathering at the Muslim Conference, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.

Trying to make his point that the BJP was allegedly shifting more towards hardline politics, Prashant Kishor compared the party’s leadership across generations from Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani to PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath.

In his statement, Prashant Kishor tried to portray how every new generation of BJP leadership was shifting towards more hardline politics. He made these remarks while addressing the Muslim Conference, where he asked attendees why they keep fearing while exercising their rights.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Prashant Kishor said, "The reference of the statement which is being given, in that I have tried to explain the evolution of BJP's leadership. If you compare Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani, then Vajpayee is considered the mascot of soft Hindutva, while Advani was a hardliner. But in today's context, if you compare Advani and Modi, people who used to think Advani was a hardliner will consider him soft in comparison to Modi."

Further warning that this trajectory may continue, Kishor said, "So I tried to explain that, with time, the trajectory of BJP's leadership will keep getting more hardline. In the next 10 to 15 years, BJP leadership will be in the hands of such a person that Modi's leadership will look softer."
