The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded weather warnings as some parts of the nation are expected to receive heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in the coming days. All the tourists and residents are required to stay vigilant and exercise all necessary precautions as unsuitable weather conditions prevail over the Southern Peninsular India, East, Central and some parts of Western India as well. This is based on a weather report published in the National Weather Forecasting Center of the Indian Meteorological department on October 16th.
For South Peninsular India:
The IMD forecasts light to moderate shower and thunderstorms in scattered places over South Peninsular India. But Tamil Nadu, will also see isolated to heavy rain during 16th-20th October, Kerala and Mahe to have the same, between 16th October and 21st October. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep areas too will see sporadic rains and thunderstorms during the time, the rain action up to Yanam and Rayalaseema on 16th-17th October.Heavy rain warning is issued in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe, on the 16th of October and 17th as well. This rain could potentially cause waterlogging or flooding in vulnerable and low-lying areas. The region is also expected to have thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 km/h in the next five days. Authorities have asked citizens to exercise care and keep themselves updated with local weather conditions.
