Ahmedabad-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express Train: Third Vande Bharat train on the Mumbai Ahmedabad route has undergone its final trials. The newly designed Vande Bharat train (rake) left ICF's (Integral Coach Factory located in Chennai) furnishing division to undergo 15000 km of trials before induction in the Indian Railways' network. This trial took place on Friday.
Reports from The Free Press Journal highlight that the new Vande Bharat train surpasses its predecessors in terms of energy efficiency, passenger amenities, and safety features. Compared to the existing Vande Bharat trains operating on other routes, such as New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Katra, this new addition is set to elevate the standards of train travel in India.
One of the most significant advantages of the new Vande Bharat train on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is the substantial reduction in travel time. Passengers can look forward to saving approximately 45 minutes on their journey, which typically takes around 5 hours and 25 minutes.
The newly designed rake has better acceleration/deceleration capacity, which will be able to reach at the speed of 160 Kmph in just 140 seconds as compared to 145 seconds earlier.
There are roughly 50 plus trains connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad which includes renowned trains like Vande Bharat, Tejas, and Shatabdi Express. At present long-distance trains can run at 100 kmph on the Mumbai Central-Borivali stretch and at 110 kmph on the Borivali-Virar route. From Virar to Ahmedabad, these trains can enhance the speeds.
The new blue and white color train will be equipped with AC chair cars and executive chair cars, and will make stops at Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali stations in both directions.
