Mumbai civic body urges residents to boil and filter water in certain localities

Mumbai: The BMC on Thursday issued an advisory urging residents of L ward (covering areas such as Kurla and Saki Naka) and S ward (including Bhandup, Powai, and Kanjurmarg) to boil and filter drinking water for three to four days starting June 23, 2025.

The civic body said this was a precautionary measure as water supply would resume from compartment No. 2 of the Powai Low-Level Reservoir, which recently underwent structural repairs. Work on compartment No. 1 will begin shortly thereafter.

The BMC has appealed to citizens to cooperate and ensure safe consumption practices during the transition.
