Some members of his family who were with him at the airport are also said to be in critical condition.

According to sources, Mohammed Yusuf, an IT professional from Mehdipatnam, was waiting with his family near a check-in kiosk to travel to Madina for Umrah when a projectile struck the airport premises. Debris from the impact reportedly fell on Yusuf, leaving him critically injured.

He later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. The ministry of external affairs, in an X post Sunday, confirmed his death. "We are in touch with the family and will provide all support for ensuring the early repatriation of mortal remains," MEA said in the post.

Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also posted on X about the incident and urged EAM S Jaishankar to provide "every possible assistance" to the family. "It's been confirmed that Yousuf sahab has passed away in the attack. His son is undergoing knee surgery, another son is in the hospital and 3 of his toes have been cut off. His daughter and wife are safe. His aunt (chachi) was with them and suffered injuries to the head but is out of danger. I am in touch with Yousuf's brother-in-law in Riyadh and the deputy chief of mission has assured me that they're taking care," he wrote.

Saudi's General Authority of Civil Aviation announced Saturday (Oct 10) that operations at King Khalid International Airport had been temporarily suspended following the attack to allow authorities to assess the damage and verify the safety of airport facilities. According to reports, the fatalities included four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshi nationals, and one national each from the US, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.
