File pic: Reuters/NASA © Copyright Deepak kumar blogs R esearchers have discovered a "super fluffy" exoplanet, 50 percent larger than Jupiter and weighing only a seventh of it, giving it a "cotton candy"-like density. The new, "fluffy" planet has been named 'WASP-193b' and was found to be located about 1,200 light years away from Earth, roughly equivalent to 10,800 trillion kilometres. Exoplanets exist outside the solar system and help us understand a bit more about how the universe works. "The planet is so light that it's difficult to think of an analogous, solid-state material," said study co-author Julien de Wit, a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US. "The reason why it's close to cotton candy is because both are pretty much air. The planet is basically super fluffy," he said. The international team of rese...

Scientists Discover Rocky Planet 'Super-Earth' With Atmosphere

Scientists Discover Rocky Planet 'Super-Earth' With Atmosphere © Provided by  Deepak kumar blogs I magine a planet, that is much larger than Earth and has an   atmosphere  which could mean that there could be life! For the first time, scientists have discovered a rocky planet outside our solar system, that could hold life. The planet -- 55 Cancri e or Janssen, is about 8.8 times more massive than Earth, with a diameter about twice that of our planet.  NASA © Provided by  Deepak kumar blogs Super-earth 55 Cancri e Scientists said that the planet is a " super-Earth " is a rocky world smaller than Neptune - and it orbits perilously close to a star dimmer and slightly less massive than our sun, rapidly completing an orbit every 18 hours or so. Janssen orbits a star named Copernicus, or 55 Cancri A, the brighter of a binary pair of dwarf stars located some 41 light-years from Earth. Copernicus was one of the very first stars discovered to h...

Electric vehicles: Future of Indian 2Wheeler industry? Check what experts think

The BCG report suggests that in FY24 electric two wheeler sales have fluctuated between ~46k to ~140k per month given the revision in FAME II subsidy in July 2023. However when compared with the same period last year, the market has seen 40% growth between January to March 2024 (Photo is representative) © Provided by Deepak kumar blogs In the bustling streets of India, where the hum of motorised vehicles is a constant melody, a silent revolution is underway. Electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) are gradually but decisively carving their niche in the country's transportation landscape. From bustling metropolises to remote villages, the allure of clean, efficient, and cost-effective mobility solutions is captivating an increasingly diverse array of consumers. As data from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) reveals, what began as a mere blip on the radar in FY 2020-21(financial year), with electric two-wheelers comprising a modest 0.3 per cent of all two-wheelers sold,...
