Difference Between Rishi, Muni, Sadhu and Sant— Understanding the Pillars of Sanatan

In the rich spiritual tradition of Sanatan Dharma, a wide spectrum of seekers, teachers, and renunciates exist, each playing a unique role in the spiritual evolution of society and self. Among these, the figures of the Rishi, Muni, Sadhu, and Saint hold a revered place. Though often used interchangeably in casual discourse, each of these titles refers to distinct spiritual paths and responsibilities. Rishi – The Seer of Truth The Saptarishis (Image Credit: Freepik) The word Rishi comes from the Sanskrit root  “ṛṣ” , meaning “to see” or “to know.” A Rishi is not just a scholar or a wise man but a seer of cosmic truths. The Rishis were those who heard (or "saw") the Vedic mantras in deep states of consciousness and passed them on in the form of hymns. These were not composed through logical thinking but revealed in a state of heightened awareness. Rishis like Vasistha, Vishwamitra, and Atri were the original transmitters of divine knowledge, whose insights still form the back...

IAF stand junks reports of 'radioactive leakage'

IAF stand junks reports of 'radioactive leakage' NEW DELHI: India did not strike Kirana Hills in Pakistan’s Punjab province, a fortified complex with underground nuclear infrastructure and storage facilities, though some strategic messaging was certainly done by hitting the Nur Khan and Sargodha airbases. IAF fighter jets like Sukhoi-30MKIs, armed with BrahMos missiles and other weapons, did target nine airbases in Pakistan and PoK as well as some radar sites, but Kirana Hills wasn’t among the targets. On whether IAF hit Kirana Hills nuclear storage facility, director general of air operations Air Marshal A K Bharti first said in a lighter vein, “Thank you for telling us Kirana Hills houses nuclear installations. We did not know it.” IAF's categorical denial that it had bombed Kirana Hills in Pakistan's Punjab province effectively junks reports of "radioactive leakage" at the site due to a missile hit, which had found some traction in international circles. ...

Delhi: Two years after makeover for G20 Summit, Bhairon Marg drain is in a shambles

Delhi: Two years after makeover for G20 Summit, Bhairon Marg drain is in a shambles In the run-up to the G20 Summit in September 2023, Delhi rolled out the red carpet for visiting dignitaries -- roads were relaid, new fountains in all shapes and sizes were built, and street art adorned the walls. As part of the transformation of the city, a portion of Pragati Maidan’s Bhairon Drain near the Summit venue — Bharat Mandapam — received a quiet makeover. Under the supervision of the Delhi L-G and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), a 240-metre section of the drain was given a ‘canal-like’ appearance. Beautified at a total cost of Rs 2.46 crore, the work was done in three phases. When  The Indian Express  visited the site on April 8, it bore a scant resemblance to its spruced-up version. Decorative rocks, once meticulously laid in a mosaic pattern along the sides, are now barely visible under wild overgrowth. Tall, unkempt plants have sprung from the gaps between the st...
