China can pull back 150 km and come back in 2–3 hours: Indian Army officer suggests continued vigil along LAC Even though there has been some positive movement in the Indo-China relations, Indian military planners are expected to remain on high alert on the ground even if a long-term de-escalation process with China begins in the coming months. “The way China has built roads, bridges, tunnels and habitats along the entire LAC, from eastern Ladakh to Arunachal, over the last five years, PLA troops can easily afford to pull back 100–150 km and then come back again in 2–3 hours,” a senior Army officer told TOI. The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has reportedly built extensive infrastructure along the LAC, enabling rapid redeployment to forward areas if required. PLA retains rapid mobilisation capability While some of the PLA’s combined arms brigades (CABs) have pulled back approximately 100 km in recent months, many still remain forward deployed. These brigades are equipped ...

His company has seen output jump more than five-fold since 2010, adding a focus on renewable energy to the parent firm’s decades of expertise in consumer and laboratory glassware. A Reddit post has triggered a debate after a user claimed that a newly opened temple earned Rs 1.4 crore in just four months. According to the post, the user’s father refused to join his friend in opening a temple, saying he did not want to profit from people’s religious beliefs. The friend, however, went ahead with the idea, reportedly taking a loan and investing Rs 35 lakh. Within months, the temple allegedly earned Rs 1.4 crore money that, as the post highlighted, is not taxed. The user wrote that while his father spent over three decades building a career to reach an annual income of Rs 85 lakh, his friend earned more in a few months through the temple. This, he said, left his father with a sense of regret for missing out on what appeared to be a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity. Faith or business? T...
