  Representational Image Amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, a 30-minute blackout rehearsal was conducted at the Ferozepur Cantonment area in Punjab on Sunday evening. The blackout drill was carried in the border town out from 9 pm to 9:30 pm, officials said. All lights were turned off in the area after a siren went off at 9 pm, they said. Earlier, the Ferozepur Cantonment Board wrote to Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma about carrying out the blackout drill. ”You are requested to ensure adequate security arrangements during this period, given the total blackout. LG’s third plant in India to come up in Sri City with Rs 5k crore

The groundbreaking ceremony for the plant will be held on May 8. In an interview with  TNIE , Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder and Managing Director of Sri City, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh have made concerted efforts to get LG to Andhra Pradesh. LG, which currently operates manufacturing units in Pune and Noida, is setting up its third plant in India, and the first in South India in Sri City. The proposed facility in Sri City will manufacture a wide range of consumer electronics, including refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, televisions, and compressors.
